Front Porch Homes has officially broken ground on the first house to be built in Rancho Lorena. The house will be a single story "hill country" styled house. The house will be a "green built" house featuring spray foam insulation, tankless water heaters, stained concrete and low voc paints.

Raymond's Southern Kitchen comes to Lorena

Waco Tribs, Mike Copeland reported that a new restaurant is coming to the Lorena area. New residents of Rancho Lorena will love having another "home grown" place to eat that is close to home.

Veteran restaurateur Raymond Carter has opened a new eatery in Lorena called Raymond’s Southern Kitchen. It’s located at exit 322 on northbound Interstate 35, in a building that has served as home to several eating places over the years.

The home-cooking place will stay open six days a week, closing on Monday, said Carter, who was with the Piccadilly cafeteria chain for 16 years and with Ryan’s for eight years. He also operated Raymond’s Sixth Street Grill near Baylor University.
